Configure Add Data widget to connect to Open Data Portal

Has anyone had success in integrating an open data portal with the Add Data widget so that layers published on the data portal are available in the Add Data widget? If so, how to configure so only those layers are available in the add data widget.

It's possible to limit the Add Data Widget to a curated list of items based on tags. So if you give a specific tag to the Open Data items, it should limit your Add Data Widget to that list.

Curate a collection—Add an option to the search drop-down menu. You can use data collections to pre-enter search terms. For example, type Wildfires under Curated filter to make a drop-down option that shows wildfire-related content. The string you enter must be either an advanced search field plus a valid value (for example, id:123456789) or tags (for example, Wildfires).
