Hello all devs,

I've faced this problem many times — either when someone else or even I configured an ArcGIS Experience Builder, and then later, it stopped working properly because the data source was broken or missing.
The problem is, no one could remember where the source was or which layer was used.

Showing just ‘None’ doesn’t help at all.
Could you at least keep the name, maybe with a cross (×) icon or something?
Just like how missing layers are shown in web maps or web scenes.

I hope this issue will be resolved as soon as possible.
I've also provided a related post about the same issue, but this one includes the Action Button.
https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-experience-builder-ideas/message-action-in-arcgis-experience-builder/idi-p/1576280

Best Regards,
Mas

A workaround for this could be inspecting the experience's JSON (you can use ArcGIS Assistant for this).

For example, I just experimented with uploading a service, putting it in an experience as a stand-alone service (not in a web map), publishing the experience, then deleting the service. When I look at the data sources section of the JSON, I see the service name ("Delete_Test"), item ID (probably not helpful), and portal URL.

If my data had been in a web map, presumably I would have had a more descriptive name to go off of, but this is just a quick example.
