Turn on selection tool when select widget is open

For the moment, selection tool isn't automatically selected when the user open the Select widget. When used in the widget controller. User have to click twice to be able to select objects.

It would make this widget easier to use if the default selection tool was automatically turned on when opening (and off when closing)

This is a great idea. An application would be more intuitive to users if the selection tool of the Selection widget were automatically turned on when opening the widget and off when closing it.

This feature will be released on ArcGIS Online in February 2026.

When interacting with a Map widget, you can:

Set the default tool when there are multiple tools configured
Enable the default tool when the app starts.
