idea Measurement options for the Draw widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder Ideas

The widget currently does not show the measurement value while drawing is in progress, like the Measurement widget does. For example, if someone is trying to use the Draw widget to draw a 40 foot line, the user has to guess where 40 feet is. This makes the Draw widget practically unusable if a user wants to draw a polygon that displays pre-determined side lengths.

The widget currently does not allow us to configure the order in which the measurement units are listed, so that if metric units are allowed, they automatically appear at the top of the list. We currently have the metric units disabled so that users don’t automatically see the metric units as the default. The widget in Web AppBuilder allows this to be configured, and it would be great to have this level of control in Experience Builder.

Hi, I feel the measurement widget is missing a lot of functionality and it's inclusion in the software was a major disappointment. I am afraid the developer's feel they did their job in adding the tool, and now we will not see any improvements because it's been crossed off the road map as completed.

As far as the Draw widget, we also need a freehand tool, plesase!

@RobWinkler , the measurement value can be viewed while drawing is in progress be enabling the 'Tooltip' in the Draw settings.

The Tooltip is nice, but has limitations.

There is no "history" with this tool as it does not have a log or labels of the individual segments on a multi part measurement. This greatly reduces the funcationality for people who work with metes and bounds/cogo type legal descriptions like assessors, realtors, cadastral mappers, abstractors, etc.

There is not an option to change the units in the Tooltips. If you try to change the coordinate system to one with the units you need, there are known issues with inaccuracies of the measurements that nobody seems to be able to address.

See how the numbers in the tooltips and then the label don't match? Same thing happens with linear measurements.

Again, the tooltips are nice, but don't address the lack of measurement history.
