Measurement Widget Improvements

Dear developers,

The measurement widget works great and I dig the snapping to geometry.

Some feedback for possible improvement:

A much requested feature from my users is the ability to see measurements of indivual edges of a drawn shape or surface. An example of this functionality is displayed below:
Unfortunately it is not possible to make multiple measurements and display them at the same time. Drawing multiple thing with the annotator drawing widget is possible and works pretty well. I would like the same for the measurement widget.
A user of mine even commented that both the measurement and annotation drawing widget can be combined. Maybe something to discuss within your team (:

100% agree with this. Many of our clients desire this functionality to measure vertex to vertex. They all bring up NearMap's measure tool and how much they love it.

Absolutely agree. My user group wants the ability to see each segment's length. Combining the two widgets makes a lot of sense too. I only use the draw widget and rename it to "Draw & Measure" for my group's apps.

I would love this functionality as well! Seeing the individual side measurements just makes sense and being able to have multiple measurements simultaneously is also a frequent need / desire from folks.

This is an important function in municipal planning & building departments when severances or part-lot applications are considered.

Hello all, I've worked with Esri Techincal Support to get an official enhancement request submitted. Follow ENH-000177806 via MyEsri for updates. We analyze land parcels daily and need to be able to measure individual line segments.

If you have developer edition this supports segment labels.
