Link the map Select tool to a Table widget

In the map widget I would like to be able to link the Select tool to a Table widget.

I imagine this could be similar to the Map Layers "View in table" action.

This would allow a user to select features on the map from a number of layers at the same time and view the results, without having to pre-configure a table for every layer. In a site with many layers, this quickly becomes cumbersome both to create and for the user to navigate.

I have a number of websites built with the JSAPI v3.x to migrate and many of them have a large number of layers. Being able to select features on the map and interrogate the attributes in this way is a crucial function.
