It would be really helpful if layers in the layers list could be controlled in a way that there is only one layer active at a time. e.g. like in Leaflet. In that way you can easily compare layers/data without switching on and off layers in the widget plus you can use blending modes without having overlays. Blending modes like "Multiplying" don't work well when you have several layers turned on that show similar data. So i suggest the idea of a tick box in the map layers options where you can choose if you want to have the classic layer control or tick if you want to go for a map where you can display only one layer at a time.
