Web Adaptor Error - 404 Not Found

Hi,

We have just installed ArcGIS Server 10.1 on

* Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition
* IIS 6.0

Both the ArcGIS Server (http://machine_fqdn:6080/arcgis/) and the Web Adulator (http://machine_fqdn/arcgis/webadaptor) have been installed and is running. We are also to use the web adapter administration page to register to the GIS Server, and we get that green successful box

Status: The following GIS servers are registered to your Web Adaptor

*** machine_fqdn ***

You can now use the URL (http://machine_fqdn/arcgis/rest/services) for accessing services in the Services Directory.

However, when we click on the link, we simply get a "The page cannot be found" 404 error.

If I just use http://machine_fqdn/arcgis, this will get redirected to http://machine_fqdn/arcgis/rest/services, and then 404 again, so form that, I think the webadaptor is kind of working, but failing half way through.

And unfortunately, there is not a single error message from the tomcat (C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Server\framework\runtime\tomcat\logs) or arcgis server (C:\arcgisserver\logs\***\server) logs

Anybody having the same issue?? And know how to fix it??

I was having a similar issue. For some reason, when I switched the machine name with the machine's ip address it worked. Try using http://[IPADDRESS]/arcgis.
