I am evolving from Single Server site to Multi Server site and have a question about how to go about editing the config store and directories locations. My single site locations are local paths (c:\arcgisserver\config-store, etc..). Question is, should I edit the existing local paths to a UNC server location, or just add new additional UNC folder locations and then delete the local directory locations? If I add new UNC folder locations first while keeping local paths, will my Arcgis Server 10.1 services remain online ?

thanks
Gerald
ArcGIS 10.1; Win Server 2008R2

Hi Gerald

Keep the local service ditectory paths for the existing site and give other sites UNC paths to these directories. You can do this while configuring the Arcgis server account for the new arcgis server machines. Give UNC paths for config store and server directories.
