Hi all,

I am trying to edit features data with ArcGIS Pro and save features data to a geodatabase via a Server of System 1. Once the feature layer is save in the geodatabase I guess it can be shared with other system (e.g. System 2 in the diagram) by adding service URL to the Portal. Has anyone tried a similar setup, please let me know if this configuration feasible in the first place?

However when trying to share data as web service from ArcGIS Pro to Server, I got the error message "Federated server not available". I could not find any option to have the Server to store data to a geodatabase which is already connecting to this Server. Someone told me in other thread that federation with a Portal is required. So, my next plan is to federate Server and Portal and try again, however, do anyone know why federation is a requirement when publishing (saving) data to a standalone Server? What features does a standalone version of ArcGIS Server offer?

Many thanks.

To add a service URL to another portal, the item is added from the Content>New Item>URL menu. You'll add the URL of the existing service, and it'll be added as an item to other portal, in your case the 11.3 version, System 2. It will still reference the original service published, i.e., your 11.5, System 1 Server.
