404 Layer Not Found when accessing a Map Services with SOI (Server Object Interceptor)

We developed an SOI with .NET that used to work with ArcGIS Server 11.3. In 11.4 and 11.5 Map Services return an error (404 Layer Not Found").

Our SOI restricts access to some layers in the service to specific ArcGIS Enterprise groups. We have verified that the user accessing the service has sufficient privileges (permissions).

Esri support sais, it's a bug and provided a bug number. But apparently noone else reported this problem so far. Is anyone else using .NET SOI to restrict access to map services and feature services?
