Data Store Validation Error

I keep receiving an error when trying to validate the data store as the hosting server.

Failed to update federated server-Failed to validate the server-managed database/enterpriseDatabase/AGSDataStore_Ds_.

The data store is on one server and the ArcGIS Server/Portal is on a different one. All of the proper ports were open and when the data store was configured with the server everything seemed to be ok. We do not have a CA-Signed SSL yet but I would assume that would be ok for now. Anyone have this issue?

Using the self signed cert should not be an issue. Try out the suggestions in this thread.

I figured it out. It was a DNS issue

We had to update the DNS entry and it worked.

Hi @MarlaJohnson ! I'm having this same issue. Can you explain what you did, the steps to resolve? Showing my ignorance in this area but I'm not sure how or where to make the changes. Thank you!
