ERROR: Basemap is not available. Displaying the default basemap instead.

Hi there. I have a web map on ArcGIS Enterprise. It was working well yesterday evening. However, this morning when I open the same map I received the error message "Basemap is not available. Displaying the default base map instead". When I open the project on ArcGIS Pro, it is all there. Any insights into what is causing this issue? Thanks!

Can you link to the map in question? You'd need to look at the map's configuration to see what basemap it's trying to load, and then look into that particular basemap to see why it isn't loading.

It sounds like the map service for your basemap is not available to your web map. Test your map service. I have seen this error in my own web maps when our servers were malfunctioning.

I have the same problem. I have a good map. Use it as a default basemap. Create any scene, map or any item. All good. But the following day it says some error with the basemap. I did nothing‼

Unfortunately the basemap cache published as a service is made by someone else, so I have no idea how to improve the basemap itself.

I also have the same problem for our map layers and basemaps. Our county ( San Juan County in WA state, USA ) has different basemaps from years past as well as parcel layers. Are these basemaps and layers not hosted within arcgis servers? See screenshot:
