Field Maps not holding configuration

Published from Pro 2.9 Patch 3

Anyone else having issues like this with the above version.

I publish a new Feature Service

Configure a map in the New Map Viewer and save it.

Open the configuration for Field Maps for the new web Map and configure contingent values.

If I go back to the Web Map in the new Map Viewer and make a change, all of my customization goes away.

then yesterday I started getting this...

If I go back to the Web Map and make a change I often get a message saying this web map was created in Classic Map Viewer do you wan to save a copy.

I went ahead and made a copy. Back to configuration and made a few contingent values. Try to open the Web Map in the New Map Viewer and get the same error message saying it was created in Classic

An ESRI person chimed in with an unacceptable answer
