ArcMap 10.5 Crashes on .sdat files

Hi Peoples,

Upgraded to ArcGIS 10.5.

Open a project containing a raster .sdat file. Crash.

Open ArcMap

New blank document

Add .sdat raster
= Crash

Do the same in 10.3.1 = OK.

Anyone else seen this?

Does ArcMap crash when adding other raster format data? Does the issue occur with all .sdat format data?

I don't have .sdat data with me to test.

But you may

1. Close all ArcGIS applications, and open a new ArcMap session.

2. Make sure the .sdat file format is enabled for ArcMap to read(Customize > ArcMap Options > Raster > File Formats).

4. Ensure the video adaptor is up-to-date.

If nothing works out, it would be wise to call Esri Tech Support to resolve the issue.

esri support reproduced the problem. Looks like a bug introduced in 10.5.
