The published mxd is not displayed in �??Flex�?�, �??Silverlight�?� or �??ArcGIS Web app�?�

Despite the fact that the service (published from mxd) is successfully created and is displayed in the �??ArcGIS Server manager�?� and �??ArcGIS REST Services Directory�?� as shown in the screenshots below,

[ATTACH=CONFIG]20649[/ATTACH], [ATTACH=CONFIG]20650[/ATTACH]

the �??ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight 3.0�?�, �??ArcGIS Viewer for Flex�?� and �??ArcGIS Web Applications Manager�?� fail to display this service

[ATTACH=CONFIG]20651[/ATTACH], [ATTACH=CONFIG]20652[/ATTACH], [ATTACH=CONFIG]20653[/ATTACH]

What might be the problem?

Hi Jamal,

From the screen shots, it appears that you are pointing to a REST Service called localhost.

The term localhost refers to the local computer that the application is hosted on, in this instance, ArcGIS Server. The localhost path is specific to each machine; therefor the services will only appear on the machine with ArcGIS Server installed. To have your services appear in flex, silverlight and other web applications, you will either need to use a fully qualified domain name, or your machine name for the Server.
To find your machine name, right click on Computer in the start menu and scroll down to properties. You r machine name will be indicated beside computer name.
Try the url http://<machinename>:6080/arcgis/rest/services/<servicename>/MapServer.

Thank you for the answer Kelly.

These web applications builders could read the service again with same conditions. Are we supposed to have internet access when working with these builders (considering that we are not using any url from the web)
