Manage Map Server Tiles - Area of Interest

I'm trying to re-cache a small area using a polygon as an input to the Area of Interest parameter in the Manage Map Server Tiles tool...but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. Instead of just re-caching that small area, it seems to be trying to re-cache the entire cache. Is this a known issue or has anyone else ran into this? Thanks!

Are you 10.1 SP1?

I've got various quality imagery for a whole state and I only want to cache to larger scale for polygons that cover the hires imagery.

Now that used to work in 10.1 but SP1 is looking for an envelope instead of an irregularly shaped polygon.

What might be worse, is that it may be doing what you're talking about.

I've got more experimentation do to.

If I was to cache the entire extent we're looking at 6+TB! Compared to 600GB.

Oops - been a while since I've cache. I entered the polygon into the Area of interest (Envelope) instead of Polygon. That'll do it.

Are you sure that's not what you're doing?
