Hi Tom, if we need something that's going to work in ArcMap and a layer file would be an acceptable solution - would it be feasible to add the map service to an empty map in 10.6 Desktop, then in the table of contents right click the layer you're interested in and save this as a *.lyr file?

I am interested in accessing a specific part of a map service via desktop. The rest endpoint of the map service looks normal: FeatureLayer1(0), FeatureLayer2(1)... I just want to pull FeatureLayer2 into my desktop arcmap. I can add it via URL in Pro but cant figure it out in 10.6.

If I could make a Desktop compatible .lyr in pro, either through export or tool, this would be a suitable work around.

Thanks.

Thank you for the reply. I now realize I didn't include my actual goal in the question. When a single feature of a map service is consumed alone it behaves as a feature service, I have access to symbology and data. I can't figure out a way in desktop to add via url.

Is this possible?
