ArcMap fails to connect to SQL server machine that has real IP (domain name),

ArcMap fails to connect to SQL server machine that has real IP (domain name),

Despite the fact that the SQL server database can be access with machine domain name and SQL logins, the ArcMap fails

What could be the issue here?

What version of ArcMap and SQL are you in? (SQL or SQL express)
Do you have the SQL server native client installed locally on your machine?

Can you connect to the SQL instance geomolg.ps from you local SSMS install?

I see that you can access it locally from the VM that is hosting the SQL instance. I am wondering if it can be accessed remotely at all.

Do you mean that the SQL Server database can’t be accessed remotely (via internet but not over the network) if its machine has real IP? Is this by design?

I am not sure what the "full" issue is yet.

Can you connect from SSMS on your local machine to the remote SQL install?

For example, you will be able to access my sql server database from your machine if I provide you with the server real IP and database logins (user name\password)?

Hi Jamal,

When I'm asking about the client, I'm referring to the additional software that is installed in order for ArcMap to connect to SQL.

The screenshot below shows the version of SQL server database both in the server and client machine.
