It is running from a user account. This service is setup on an external server and I am wondering if it has something to do with that. Internal services work fine with the local copy editing functionality. I think it could be that or possibly a timeout setting within IIS. I am going to have the consultant doing work for us test and see if it works for them

Has anyone experienced this error when trying to create a local editing copy when trying to edit a feature service using ArcGIS Desktop. I checked and all editing features are enabled. Possibly thinking this could be a timeout error based on what I could find online.

Hi Nick,

Have you added the feature service to ArcMap from a user connection, since these commands are disabled with administrator connections. Also see Making a local copy of a feature service for editing.
