Feature Service - Local Copy for Editing could not be created - item not found

After successfully publishing a Feature Service with 10.1 that appears to function correctly, I am unable to Create a Local copy for editing via ArcMap - attached error. The service is editable via a java API but does not work via ArcMap 10.1.

The error appears to be db related - "Item Not Found - Item Type :{........} The table was not found."

Any thoughts on what might be causing this behaviour? I am certain all permissions & privis for the AG4S account are correct as the service is published, looks correct, and can be edited over the web....

Hi Eric,

Did you publish the feature service from that same ArcGIS Desktop installation? I mean, can you connect to the source database from that Desktop?

Are you adding the feature service to ArcGIS Desktop from an ArcGIS Server user connection? I seem to recall seeing an error like that when I'd been using the wrong type of ArcGIS Server connection. (I was using my publisher connection at the time, I believe.)

I also get this error. Have not fix this issue. I have always had this issue but never the time to solve it.

Kimberley - It shouldn't be something to do with the connection as I believe you can only add a feature service to ArcMap through a user connection.
