Service Editor setting for a map service with a manually updated cache

Hi,

In my current task, I update an existing map cache for an existing map service. I was told that it was designed to update a cache manually.

I found that in the map service the setting “Update cache automatically” is selected in the Service Editor (see the picture below).

In my understanding, the cache I am tasked to update must have the setting “Update cache manually”.

I proceed with the steps:

- Change the setting to “Update cache manually”

- Click OK button

- Open the Service Editor to check the setting

It appears that the old setting “Update cache automatically” is selected again.

Please explain how to change the setting.

We use ArcGIS Desktop and Server 10.3.1

Any help will be appreciated.
