    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;This is perhaps semantics, but maybe I am not using the roles correctly.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;There are 3 role types, but only the ???user??? role type can be used to provide read privileges to private service.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;3 user role types can be assigned to a specific service:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Group-A -&amp;gt; Service-A&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Group-B -&amp;gt; Service-B&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Group-C -&amp;gt; Service-C&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;users in Group-A cannot use Service-B or Service-C&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;But publisher and administrator role types provide access to all services and can give access to anyone.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Publisher types assigned to a specific Service:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Pub-A -&amp;gt; Service-A&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Pub-B -&amp;gt; Service-B&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Administrator types assigned to specific service:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Adm-A -&amp;gt; Service-A&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Adm-B -&amp;gt; Service-B&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Is there any benefit to having more than one publishing or administrator group?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hi,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; Publishers and Administrators can see and update/delete any existing services.&amp;nbsp; From this perspective, it does not add much to create separate groups of Publishers/Administrators. Some people want better control, so for example a particular publisher can only edit/delete services that he/she created.&amp;nbsp; This is something that we have enabled in ArcGIS 10.2 for Server, when used in combination (Federated with Portal) with the Portal for ArcGIS extension. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Ismael&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
