Sites: Restrict layout items by group

We're really enjoying playing around with Sites and want to use one as our internal GIS homepage.

As our organisation controls our content heavily with groups, it would be great to have the ability to apply specific layout items such as rows and banners to specific groups. Right now in test, users with minimal groups see a whole bunch of layout items such as banners, text items, etc with no content underneath because they're not a member of a particular group. We'd like the page to look nice and clean for every user, regardless of what groups they're a member of.
