topic Server validation error - Failed to update the datastore connection file. Error saving the dataspace to a file in ArcGIS Enterprise in the cloud Questions

We have a GIS server as part of a multi-machine enterprise deployment in Azure. Originally this was setup in 10.9 and used Azure Cloud Builder. The configuration store was selected as Microsoft Azure Storage.

The environment is now upgraded to 11.1. Everything works fine, except there is an error while validating the hosting server. Also none of the enterprise datastores created can have the validation status as 'success' although the store is working (can add items)

The error is: https://domain.com/server/admin/data/validateDataItem returned an error: Failed to update the datastore connection file. Error saving the dataspace to a file. Any idea where this file is?

Now an additional information: the configuration store is saved in Azure Storage, and from server manager the option to edit the (to change) location is not possible. The edit pencil says: editing is disabled for cloud configuration stores.

Please see the screenshots

Any idea how to resolve this? Many thanks

Thomas
