Will there be a 1.7.1 version of ArcGIS Earth?

On July 25, 2018, we were notified that there is a bug in ArcGIS Earth 1.7. ArcGIS Earth version 1.7 has been removed from the homepage for this product.

Bug: ArcGIS Earth 1.7 incorrectly truncates location values when displaying data from TXT and CSV files

The "Workaround" states - "The ArcGIS Earth development team is currently working to resolve this issue in the upcoming release (version 1.8)."

Can you tell us, will we have to wait until a 1.8 version is released or will there instead be a 1.7.1 version released sooner?

Hi Joe,

Thanks for asking! ArcGIS Earth 1.8 is planned to release by the end of the August. A bunch of new features and enhancements are added in this upcoming 1.8 release including interactive 3D analysis tools, bookmarks, and web scene support, etc. There will not be a 1.7.1 version.

In the meantime, ArcGIS Earth Android (Alpha), the mobile earth is going to release very soon as well! ArcGIS Earth Android brings 2D and 3D content to the mobile platform, and help you tell a story in the scene. It is an Alpha program, you can download it from Early Adopter or Google Play Store once it comes out. Stay tuned.

Currently this is the only desktop application that ESRI have out-of-the-box that can work offline (not counting ArcPAD :).

Please make sure it does work off line. We have a few customers that needs it.

ArcGIS Earth 1.8 is live this morning. V1.8 release is a big step for us with the introduction of 4 interactive analysis tools and numerous usability updates. You can get the build from ArcGIS Earth | ArcGIS and check highlights in this blog post.

I did the same thing. Look in the upper right-hand corner for the "Get ArcGIS Earth" button, not the "Get it from Microsoft" button.
