I sign-up for the 60 day ESRI ArcGIS free trial and cannot log into ArcMap or ArcCatalog, something that it says is accessible during the 60 day free trial period.

If I remember well, after you sign up for an evaluation copy of ArcGIS you receive an email with a link for activate your arcgis online account.

After that, you will receive another email with an activation code ( the format is like: EVA123456789).

In the same email you will find all the steps for:

1. downloading ArcGIS (there is a link, use your new credentials for accesing it) and

2. authorizing your evaluation copy.
