In Data Reviewer, as an enhancement to the Geometry on Geometry check, it would be beneficial to be able to limit the comparison to only the start point or end point of a line. An example would be, a fire hydrant point can only be at the end point of a pipe polyline, or a storm sewer inlet point can only be at the start point of a stormdrain pipe polyline.

At ArcGIS Data Reviewer 10 a new check called the Valency Check was introduced that will help utilities and transportation users validate point and line connections. The Valency check can find where a fire hydrant is connected to more than one hydrant lateral. To find a hydrant that is not connected to a hydrant lateral or is snapped in the middle of a hydrant lateral, you can configure the Geometry on Geometry check using the NOT Touching spatial relation.
