can i switch the map in a dashboard map widget?

I have a dashboard set up with a map widget, with all the associated filters etc. already configured. Now I want to use a different map, but cannot figure out how to make this change.

Is this possible? Or will I need to add a new map and redo all the configuration settings?

The administration of a widget such as this in a web app should allow a map to be changed if it has the same configured layers in it. If this is not that case, this will lead to a considerable amount of rework (maintenance) to be done which management is never happy about. This type of rework can occur if the web map json is out-of-sync with web app after web map changes and one UNSUPPORTED ESRI solution is AGOL Assistant.

It is essentially the same map, with all the same layers (plus a few others), but you make an excellent point how that could easily break all the app "components" on the dashboard. In my particular case I don't think it would have.
