Empty List until selection?

Is there a way to have a list that stays empty until a feature is selected on the map?

I have features (points) and a related inspection table - I'd like the list of inspections to remain empty until I select a feature on the map. The map selection/filter action works fine, but the list shows all records from the inspection table until I select a feature (and then it shows me the filtered list, which is what I want, so that is working fine).

This is not currently supported in Operations Dashboard. But we do have this enhancement in our backlog. Can you also please post this on the ArcGIS Ideas site for Dashboard so we can gauge the interest from the user community? Or you could add a comment to this existing idea, Allow "No Data on Opening of Dashboard" Option for Gauges/Indicators
