I am trying to create an indicator in the new Operations Dashboard and want to have it display the count of my features. When I do so however, it gives an incorrect number. The layer should have 42 features (and it even shows that if you open the table when creating the indicator), however when I actually create the indicator it shows 143 features. Does anyone have any ideas why it's giving me a wrong count when it should say 42 instead of 143?

Thanks!

I have a similar problem where my layer reports a count of 509 features everywhere except in Operations Dashboard where it reports a count of 524.

I created a secure feature map service on our ArcGIS Server site and I consume this from within ArcGIS Online after adding it as a Feature Layer (to store credentials). ArcGIS Online confirms the feature count at 509 in the Map Viewer and the data tab in View item details etc.

The underlying feature class is non-versioned with archiving enabled within the enterprise geodatabase. Coincidentally, the business table has 524 rows, whereas the related view (business table name with suffix _evw) has 509 rows. My conclusion is, therefore, that the Operations Dashboard is incorrectly including edits. I haven't found a way to prevent this yet.

This is still happening last I tested it on 9/21/2018! Looks like any feature class with attachments is counted wrong, may also be including related features. Indicator widget is unusable for us in the dashboards for most of our applications because of this since we use related classes and most have attachments. This in using AGO and we host our own services on a public AGS.

As mentioned previously, the table count is correct on show preview

I was trying to display a count for a feature (with attachments) published through a PostgresSQL database, which seems to have been the problem. After publishing the feature to an SQL Server database, the indicator displayed the correct number of features, even with the attachments enabled!!

Depending on the situation, creating a new database just to get the indicator to display the correct feature count hardly seems like a reasonable work-around. But, I wanted to let anyone who is having the same issue know about possible fix... This still needs looked at by ESRI though.

Thank you for sharing your workaround. Unfortunately this layer has to be housed on an Oracle database where all of the other data is located.

I posted the original post with another account. Sorry for the delay. However, my layer is housed in a Oracle database. I was never able to get the Dashboard counts to be correct with the service published off default. However, I was able to get the correct counts with a service published off a version. The dashboard is used to monitor complaints, so pulling from the editing version gives our management a real time view. This was not my original plan, but works. We do have another service published off default with attachments in our organization that experienced the same count issues in the dashboard. Somehow theirs worked fine after a few days. I'm at a loss for an explanation. We did verify in testing that after the database is compressed the counts are corrected in all cases. Hope this helps.
