Vertical lines between grouped indicator elements in the same row

This isn't specifically related to the June 2026 update but it has gotten worse/more prevalent since the update.

We have a Dashboard configured with rows of grouped indicator elements. The individual indicator elements have a background colour calculated from some data values via the advanced formatting options. By grouping the rows together it presents the individual rows as solid blocks of the same colour even though they are made up of three separate indicator elements:

The problem is that for some rows, vertical white lines appear between some of the indicator elements. In the above screen grab, there is a vertical white line on the 5th floor row between the 'Quiet' and '<25%' indicator elements. At different resolutions, vertical white lines appear between different indicator elements:

As I said, this did used to happen before the June 2026 update, but prior to the update it was only a problem at a few resolutions, whereas now it's a problem at pretty much every resolution.

Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone figured out a workaround? The only thing I can think of to do is to ungroup the rows:

But I much prefer the grouped appearance, if it wasn't for the spurious vertical lines.

Yep, we have found the same thing. We've added it to the list of issues since the update.

Hi @MappyIan The "Fix" provided by ESRI is to turn off the 'allow element resize' toggle to remove these gaps. However, this is a double edged sword as the user can no longer drag the edge of their dashboards.

Footnote: I'm not sure with these supposed modernized dashboards why Esri didn't include the ability to convert every element into collapsable sidebars. That has been present in experience builder since day dot. Why announce modernised dahdboards without including that?

Hey @WillyG, thanks for replying. The white lines I'm seeing in my Dashboard are not as prominent as the ones in your Dashboard and are not due to the element resize toggle being enabled. I have 'allow element resize' disabled on all elements of the dashboard. The lines I see are 1px wide and if I resize my Dashboard they come and go between different indicator elements. This behavior isn't new with the June 2026 update, it's just got way more noticeable and happens much more frequently now.

@MappyIan I had opened a case, a few months ago, about this. I have an open Enhancement request (ENH-000182137). The enhancement description is "Allow outlines to show and work with grouped elements after publishing in ArcGIS Online Dashboards.".

I'd noticed that in "edit mode" the dashboard showed the lines between grouped elements, but not in the published version that users saw. It makes it really hard to differentiate between elements when there are no boundaries. Unfortunately, this enhancement is still "In Review" and got marked as a low priority. Its been open since January 2026.

Hi @erica_poisson, thanks for the info. I hadn't really clocked that the view in edit mode is different to the view in published mode. What I'm after is subtly different from your enhancement request though as I don't want the lines to appear at all when rows of elements are grouped together. The enhancement could work assuming it's implemented in a way that allows the user to specify the colour of the outlines (so I could make them the same colour as my item background).
