Add Elements other than Selectors to a Dashboard Sidebar

I'm hoping to add additional info to my dashboard, but am running out of space! Is it possible to add elements like 'gauges' and 'rich text' to a sidebar? I don't see that as an option, but I'm wondering if there's a workaround or way to approximate this.

You cannot add elements to a sidebar. However, the sidebar does contain 2 rich text editors you can use instead of a rich text element.

Have you considered "stacking" so that you have tabs for your dashboard?

I would love to be able to add an indicator element into the sidebar
