Thanks Cody. If it helps, my specific edits pertained to changes to a bar chart element. I was changing the 'grouped values' field from one field to another, and also aliasing the values to something more plain-English. The editing window for the element started glithching and acting slow. I saved my changes and closed this window. Then, I tried moving a bar chart element to another location in the app and it wouldn't recognize my click-and-drag movement. It froze up and then all of a sudden the application sort've blacked out. No elements would display and really no buttons to click were available, except 'Save As'.

Dashboards Fatal Error

Hey all,

When working with a Dashboard, I made a change to delete a duplicate widget, and the dashboard slowed down to infinitely loading, and then after a refresh was issued and everything's gone! This is is what I'm seeing now:

None of the buttons are able to be used on the left, except for Save As, and that doesn't change anything. In the console, I see this:

I really am at a loss for what this could be, nothing in the Javascript should have been changed, and I'm not sure how to revert these changes.

I would appreciate any help!

Cody

I've seen some weird stuff like that too and I usually either give up and rebuild the widget myself, or I just redo the duplicate and it works sometimes. I am curious though, does this happen every time? Does it happen with every widget? Which widget are you using and which version of dashboards are you using (AGOL vs Enterprise, etc.)?

I've had this happen to me twice now - 2 separate dashboard applications. It completely breaks the dashboard and I have to rebuild the entire thing. The first time this happened, I submitted a ticket and support couldn't help at all. Both times this happened to me I was in the middle of making edits.

I was also unable how to figure out how to revert whatever changes were made that broke it...

Hey @AdrianWelsh

This was a duplicate Pie Chart widget, something that seems very low level and not impactful, but apparently it was! I wasn't even able to redo the duplicate, it completely locked up the dashboard and I was no longer able to make changes, or even copy! This was done in Enterprise 11.2, and has not happened again so far, we just ended up rebuilding the dashboard to get things working and take frequent backups!

Cody

Hey @Juan_Toro-Killion

This is definitely super strange, and I'm sorry that it happened to you as well! I would suggest that we could enter a bug ticket, but I so far am unable to figure out how to reproduce it, so until I figure that out then it may not be substantial enough for a bug entry. If you figure anything out be sure to submit a bug ticket and update us here!

Cody
