Trouble downloading data from AGOL

I am having trouble downloading my data from a recent Collector project. It is a point layer with picture attachments and about 1,800 points.

The data is contained in the "Inventory - Tree Inventory" feature layer.

There is no download button on the page for this layer.

How do I download the complete dataset to use in ArcMap?

Are you the owner/creator of this feature service? If not the owner can do it or I believe there is a setting to allow others. Also you can click the open button and it should give you an option to open in desktop but again if you are the owner.

Also I assumed you have exported before? If not and this is the first export it might be a rights issue by your admin. Our admin customizes everyones rights to ensure credits arent used by those who arent as familar

I am the admin/owner/creator. I do have the option to open in desktop, but this doesn't pull in all the features. I've exported many other layers, just not sure why this one isn't giving me the option to do so.

Bump for figuring out why this feature layer doesn't have a download option. Do I need to stop or somehow cancel the service its providing? None of my users have used it for weeks... we just want the data that we've collected.

Is it coming from an ArcGIS Server and not a hosted feature service? If it is an item that was created when you added an ArcGIS Server service to your AGOL content, that will not display any options to download/export the data through the item detail page.

Can you share the bottom of your description page? Its odd, I have never had that happen unless I was not the owner.

Ron, the bottom of the description page is in can be seen in the second photo of my original post - is this what you're referring to?

Is there a chance I'm not the "true" owner? Our previous admin uploaded this service, and I've since switched everything over to my ownership. She doesn't even have a login anymore.

Any way to find out? I'm not the original uploader of the service, but have since switched ownership over to my account. The original uploader doesn't have an account anymore.

Ah sorry I was looking at the post in another section and it didn't show me the bottom but I see it how. below is what one of my services looks like and you can see more options there as well. Parks_TownofSuperior is showing as the publisher, is that your signon? I was assuming it was but that is the user who published the service and if you are logged in as that user I would expect the export to be available. If not I suspect that is the issue. If that is not you then there is an option (Seen in my snapshot) to enable export data for other users. If the publisher enables that it might resolve your issue, though I am not sure what export options it gives as I don't have access to one setup like that which I do not own.

Also if that is not you and enabling the export does not give you the options needed, AGOL has a new feature that allows the admin (and only the admin) of your AGOL account to create a group that gives all members the ability to edit items shared to the group which also might resolve the issue

Unfortunately neither of these solutions work. Whether I log in as the admin or using the parks login, I cannot download this data. The dataset is shared with groups that have editing capability and still there is no download button. Everything is there in AGOL but as the admin I cannot download the data.

Go to the service URL. if it is not a services.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services URL then it is probably coming from an ArcGIS Server. If it is coming from a services.arcgis.com URL then it probably means you are not the original owner of the serivce and the service does not support export.

It is a hosted service. When you go to the service URL you should see a Service Item: unique ID section on the REST endpoint. Can you take that uniqueID and see if it matches the ID in the URL for the item page for the tree inventory item. If the Service Items IDs do not match then you will know you are not the owner of the service. You can switch out the IDs and go to that item detail page and see who the owner is if you have access to it.

Sorry but this is getting above my head. Here is a picture of the service URL. It has an ID of 0.

I can also tell you that I am not the original owner, because when I go to the root of the service URL above it takes me to all the feature services that my predecessor published before we implemented a new server & database system. This person is no longer here, no longer has a login, but we still need this data.

"Inventory (FeatureServer)" is the layer that we need to download.

I am wondering if it is something in the way that person who left initially published the services. Its very odd the setup. How much data has already been collected? I would try calling ESRI tech support who should be able to help more. I am at a loss on this, if they cant help the only option would be to recreate the feature service and then republish. You should be able to get out the existing data but it would be a pain to then get it back into your service. Have you used Ops Dashboard before? There are export widgets in there that let you pull out data in csv and attachments separate which you could then import back in (attachments would be the pain) and republish then use the new feature service going forward.

I have filed a claim with Tech support. 1,800 points with pictures have been collected and organized over 3-4 weeks. Moving forward, the service does need to be published properly, so I would have no problem with dismantling the service in order to get at the data. We do need the attachments as well.

Ah sorry, hopefully ESRI gives you an answer. the points should be ok, I know you can create the fgdb and import your data but the attachements will be a pain. I dont know an easy way to do that. Hopefully there are no related tables which would add to the trouble.
