Polygon not recorded, shape_area 0

Archive enabled SDE geodatabase, field crew was working in online mode, and we have discovered 6 polygons that have shape_area, shape_lengh = 0. All the attributes are there, but there doesn't seem to be any geometry.

I checked the historical archive, it doesn't have geometry either.

I'm guessing this was s flutter in cell coverage and/or a self-intersecting polygon that was collected, resulting in geometry error so SDE wouldn't allow it.

Any ideas how to retrieve the geometry? Repair geom. tool doesn't work.

Hi Dan,

What is the coordinate system used? Seems to be a GCS. Test it with a projected coordinate system (You could use PCS for data frame instead of reprojecting the data).

SDE feat. dataset was web mercator PCS and has been since data collection.

Do you use latest iOS/Android build? I remember we fix one issue related to zero geometry.

These features were all collected on iOS platform on 16 April and 22 April.

I think the most current version at that time was 10.3

We fixed one similar issue BUG-000086469 in 10.3.1 to prevent 0 length and 0 area feature.
