I also have exactly the same problem as cerverds. I have tried numerous installs on 2 PCs (one 64bit, the other 32 bit), done reboots, added -Dagol, installed the patch and even deleted Desktop 10.1 and still get the same error as cerverds. The Lic Manager says it's authorised for Advanced Single Use but it will not run. Am I missing something very simple here.

Cheers

Rossco

Matt's right, in case of CityEngine 2012 licensing issues your best bet may be to contact Esri Tech Support.

I have seen one case in which the user had to copy and paste the esriLicense.config file to the following location: C: drive > Users > user_profile. After doing so, CityEngine recognized it was activated. We found this out by starting process monitor to track what files CityEngine was looking for at start-up.

By the way, if you're outside the US, please contact your local Esri distributor's tech support.

CityEngine was looking for the file esriLicense.config on the P: drive (the user profile on the network), but after authorization, this file was created on the c:\ drive. We used Process Monitor to find out where CityEngine was looking for this file. After moving the file to P: CityEngine worked as expected.

Cheers, Niels
