VOB File Format & VUE Usage

Does the new version of City Engine still export the VOB file format for use in VUE?

I'd like to use City Engine exports inside of VUE - if VOB file format has been discontinued, will the OBJ format work and will the textures be exported as well? I'm thinking of the BASIC version as I do not think I can afford the ADVANCED version.

Yes, VOB is still supported (and the format will get even more love in the near future).

Thanks for the reply Pascal. Given that ESRI will be enhancing the VOB export format, can you tell me if ESRI will be marketing City Engine only for VUE (through E-On Software as in the past) or will we (users) just have to purchase the Basic version through ESRI?

Just trying to get an idea of where things are heading...

Apologies for the late response.

Unfortunately there will be no new CityEngine VUE (for evil administrative reasons), means VUE users need to continue to purchase CityEngine Basic via Esri.

However, our friends from E-On will soon release something amazing in regards to CE (hint: LumenRT - Home‌)
