Unusal digitizing behaviour - picking up hidden layers

Hi,
Not sure if this is a bug or user error but I'm getting some unusual and unwanted digitizing behaviour.

1. I draw a shape.
2. Then another one adjoining it like this:
[ATTACH=CONFIG]29770[/ATTACH]
3. But when I close the shape I get this:
[ATTACH=CONFIG]29771[/ATTACH]

The reason seems to be that I have some imported shapefiles that have similar geometry on a hidden layer. i.e. the shape I drew at step 1 and the shapefile look like this when displayed together:
[ATTACH=CONFIG]29772[/ATTACH]

Obviously I can work around this - just thought I'd let you know of a possible bug.

can you retry this with CityEngine 2013 ? 😮

this may already have been solved.

just download the TRIAL, the 2012 license still works for 2013.

Switch to classic snapping and only have the vertices of what you want to snap to snappable

how do you mean 'switch to classic snapping' in CityEngine ?

there's no snapping tools in CityEngine ( yet ).
