Territory Design Analysis Balancing Algorithm

The Territory Design tool has a similar optimization algorithm to Build Balanced Zones, which uses a genetic algorithm. Does anyone know what exact algorithm does the Territory Design use? I could not find anything in the documentation.

So looks like the exact details of the algorithm is proprietary so cannot be shared however received a more generalized description that hopefully provides more details below here.

We use a multi-iteration heuristic algorithm, that is having features of genetic algorithms. On each iteration optimization algorithm is performing assessment of territory solution against the balancing criteria and applying heuristic approaches for optimization of a solution. It is not necessarily that each next iteration would make solution better, so algorithm makes selection of most promising solution candidates for evolution of optimization process.
