symbology value field?

Configuration
ArcGIS Server 9.3.1
Silverlight API 1.2
Silverlight 3
VS 2008

Is there anyway I can get the symbology value field from either the REST API or the SOAP API? I would like to turn on and off the features based on their symbology. Also is there a way to convert domain description to domain value? I can get domain description via the SOAP API but I am stuck on getting the actual domain value.

I believe Symbology and Domain are new to ArcGIS Server 10: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//00qp00000010000000.htm

You can compare the following:
v9.31 : http://sampleserver1.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Petroleum/KGS_OilGasFields_Kansas/MapServer/0?f=pjson
v10 : http://sampleserver3.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Petroleum/KSFields/MapServer/0?f=pjson

You can append "?f=pjson" or "?f=json" to view the layer information.
