Can anyone share me an example how to use arcobjects in Silverlight application . That would be a great help .. Thanks a bunch

ArcObjects is not supported by Silverlight.
If you need to execute some ArcObjects code, you will need to create a custom webservice on the server and call that.

Has this changed in VS 2012 and Arc 10.2 or do I still need to create a custom web service?

I'm sure this hasn't changed. ArcObjects is an a huge API compiled for development using full blown .NET and it wouldn't be practical to port to Silverlight.
