There is never a point where all of the symbols for all of the layers are present in the same view extent, so constraining the legend to only show currently-visible features seems to be a good solution to the "too much information" problem I am facing here. </SPAN><BR /><BR /><SPAN>I know that there is a way on the desktop to only show classes that are visible in the current map extent, but I can't seem to find an equivalent for online development.
