Vector tile layers not loading in new map viewer

I wrote a script that adds several vector tile layers to a web map via ArcGIS API. However, these layers aren't displaying in the new map viewer, and just say "An error occurred loading this layer". They display just fine in Map Viewer Classic though. They are all published in Web Mercator Aux Sphere projection. Any ideas? Using ArcGIS Pro v3.1.1.

I think it would be good to check if the Vector Tile Layers are working fine when uploaded manually, that way we can narrow this down as either a data issue or a problem with the script or API.
