How do you add labels when creatig a hosted Featurelayer in Python API

I am creating featureclasses through pandas/geopandas and the SEDF and can style them fine by adding json. However, I can find no documentation to show me how to add labels, the label columns etc.

Any ideas?

Normally you create labels in a map, not in the service

I know, I was just hoping I could set a label field or something through ArcGIS API for Python. May have to be a final step to be manually done.
