Using ArcGIS Python API for Migrating from Enterprise 10.6.1 to 10.9.1

Hello,

We are working on a project involving a migration from ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 to 10.9.1. We plan to use Python for the migration process. Can the ArcGIS Python API be leveraged for this scenario? Specifically, does it support cloning items from version 10.6.1 and handle creating the items correctly in the 10.9.1 environment? Any insights or documentation references would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @IhabHassan, I find performing the migration via python is not always foolproof. If you are able to use the same URL for the web adaptors (i.e. https://web.domain.com/portal, https://web.domain.com/server), I would recommend migrating using a WebGISDR backup.

sorry for the late response.
WebGISDR in version 10.6.1 doesn't sound appealing, we had many issues with this tool in earlier versions of Enterprise like 10.6.1, also this version is retired, not sure how to source the install package or valid licenses.
