      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;if you look at the function locateQuery (inside main.js), you can see that the author of this sample isn't using a locator task from our API, but rather &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/help/jsapi/namespace_esri.htm#request"&gt;esri.request&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; to pass a query to the geocoding service.&amp;nbsp; im guessing the reason for this has something to do with supporting autocomplete.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;unfortunately, you'll have to get a pretty good grasp on the logic of that code if you're going to take a stab at substituting your own geocoding service.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
