Map Components - Widget Components without a Map or Scene

Is it possible to use a widget component, such as arcgis-search without an arcgis-map component? It looks like the widgets have to be wrapped inside of arcgis-map. Are there plans to be able to use the widgets without a map or scene?

The use case is a widget that we have in a web component on our website that allows users to enter their address in the search widget and then display feature widgets for the results, without a map.
