SimpleMarkerSymbol hidden behind Polygons

SimpleMarkerSymbols are being set to not visible, when any Polygon (like buildings or a Polyline) is between the SimpleMarkerSymbol and the Views Camera.

Is there any way to control the visibility by hand?

The use case is the following:

I am trying to depict waypoints for a path trough a city. And I always want to show those points, even when they are behind buildings or other graphics.

Unfortunately, this currently not possible and I cannot suggest any workaround.

It is in our backlog, though, not yet planned for a release. I'll write your use case down, thanks for sharing it!

By the way, are the buildings/polygons/polylines through what you'd like to see the symbols transparent or opaque?

ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 5.0 introduced improved occlusion handling for 3D labels and icons. This helps keep important waypoints and points of interest visible when they are obscured by buildings, making it easier to follow routes and maintain context in 3D city scenes.
