topic Legend Symbology for Dynamic Map Service layer in ArcGIS JavaScript Maps SDK Questions

Is there any way to change the symbology for a legend item associated with layer located in a Dynamic Map Service? I think thats a base64 image.
Possibly by using .css? I dont see anything in the JavaScript API to do this.

We have some roads that we're rendering in our application (gravel roads), and the dashes between the alternating colors are fairly long. But on the associated legend item, only one of the colors appear. Thus, the road looks like a solid color'ed road, not a dashed road. Would be nice to possibly make the image a little wider perhaps.

Ideas?
Thanks.

Karen
